China Mobile Research Institute: Working with Haier, Huawei, Hongdian and other partners to create a benchmark case of 5G-enabled drag chain system for drum washing machine production line

Recently, China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI), together with eight units including China Mobile Shandong Corporation Qingdao Branch, Qingdao Haier, Huawei, UNISOC, Quectel and Hongdian, focused on the painful problem of frequent production line downtime due to the fragility of the drag chain at Qingdao Haier's Sino-German drum washing machine factory, and innovatively designed a definitive solution for 5G-enabled drag chain system, which optimised the drag chain system, improved production efficiency, saved production line operation and maintenance costs, and created a benchmark case of 5G integration into production to empower a fully connected factory.



The success of this case is an important milestone in the penetration of 5G into the core production chain of a fully connected factory and is highly recognized by many parties.
